I can still see them in the snow. As I look out my windows everyday, they are a reminder that small people I love were here and left their marks for me to remember. Those that created the footprints are in their own homes now, but when they made those footprints, they were bundeled up against the cold and were having such a fun time in the snow and cold weather, that we were all envious of the fun they were having.
I remember when I was their age and also bundeled up warm against the cold day and went outside to make my own footprints in the snow. Did I know I was leaving a record behind that I had been there and had enjoyed the day? I am sure no one remembers leaving footprints behind, but I remember those in my yard. Every day at my window, I remember.
Someday when it is warm, the footprints will vanish, but I have such good feelings about those days gone by with footprints in my backyard.
